Talbot were handed a bye in the Scottish Cup Preliminary draw which was made on the 12th August. Only Irvine Meadow and Girvan from the WOSL were handed a tie when Meadow were drawn with East cracks Mussleburgh while Girvan head to the capital to face Tynecastle.

In the other ties Linlithgow might struggle against North high flyers Banks O’ Dee while Golspie have a massive round trip to face Hawick. With Talbot freed up they will be able to continue their league campaign against Cumbernauld.

AUCHINLECK TALBOT SUPPORTERS will occupy the SOCIAL CLUB END of Stand, the Terracing from the Stand to the Clubhouse, the Coal Road and Main Street Terracing up to the segregation point on the East Terracing.

AUCHINLECK TALBOT SUPPORTERS are asked to enter and exit the ground by the SOCIAL CLUB GATES 1 & 2.

GLENAFTON ATHLETIC FC SUPPORTERS will enter and exit BY NUMBER 6 & 7 GATES AT THE MAIN STREET END OF THE GROUND. On entering the ground access will be allowed for the GLENAFTON ATHLETIC FC SUPPORTERS to occupy the Terracing behind the Main Street End Goals to the North End of the Stand.

The TALBOT WALL in the newly refurbished Social Club has reached full capacity. Fans will have their name or the names of loved ones inscribed on Club Coloured Black & Gold Bricks, on a one name one brick basis costing £28 inclusive of a certificate of inscription.

We now have received delivery of the Bricks and will hopefully be in place in the next week or so depending on availability of materials

Due to the tremendous demand from our fans we will accept names for a TALBOT WALL 2 in the week or so.

All proceeds will go towards our Development Fund that supports the various ongoing improvements at Beechwood Park.

FLOODLIGHT PROJECT MERCEDES BENZ SUV DRAW

The above draw will be made at halftime in our Scottish Junior Cup First Round match v Montrose Roselea at Beechwood Park on Saturday 21 Aug.

After discussions with the WOSL, Glenafton and Beith the two evening kick offs scheduled for 7.15pm and 7pm have been switched to 7.30pm thanks to the new floodlight system. This will give the players and fans an added 30 minutes to get to the match.

Talbot travel to Synergy Park on Saturday hoping to keep up their unbeaten league run intact after Wednesday’s nail biting encounter against Largs This will be our first run out of the season on the astro turf where the Bot have an unique record of never losing a league match on a plastic surface and hope to emulate this record against the side laying second bottom of the league.

Having won only one game out of five which was a shock 3-1 win over Pollok, the former South of Scotland side will prove dangerous opponents on their home patch. However their last outing at Synergy was a 6-0 thrashing by high flying Kilwinning Rangers.

Kilwinning fans were asked to populate the side behind the dugouts and no doubt with our support it will be likely we will be asked to do the same. With the weather forcast to be rain on Saturday it would be advisable to bring a brolly as Synergy Park has no cover.

Car parking is limited with the car park reserved for players and officials only. Townhead Bowling Club and Eva’s Café situated in the Evolution Fitness across the road for tea, coffee and food.

No doubt we will be out in numbers again so let’s roar the boys onto another victory.

The held over draw which includes a top of the range Mercedes SUV for the weekend will take place on the 21st August at the Montrose Roselea match. The draw which has been held over due to the Covid epidemic raised a substantial amount for the floodlight project.

Talbot legend Keir Milliken will be taking the field this Wednesday but not for the Talbot. Keir is now on the payroll of Largs Thistle after joining them in 2020 from Beith, and will no doubt be looking forward to his return to Beechwood where he had many an eventful season. Keir is still to score for his new club, so lets hope the trend continues.

Stewart Davidson brings the “Theeesal” to Auchinleck on the back of a 2-1 defeat by Cumnock on Saturday and will be desperate for the three points after getting his team out of the relegation places with wins over Rossvale and Cumbernauld.

Talbot have a full squad to pick from which includes the return of Gordon Pope and Dwayne Hyslop. No doubt Tucker will continue with his rotation system as we embark on a glut of league matches. Word has it the new lights might get an airing.

Four of last season’s squad have now left the club as they move on to pastures new. Hamish McKinlay was first to start the exodus after joining Premier rivals Clydebank followed by Corey Pearson who has recently signed for Kilbirnie. Defender Dillon Young has also left but at the moment its unsure who he has signed for.

It now can be confirmed that Stephen Wilson has left to join his old side Troon FC. Everybody at Beechwood would like thank all the players for their services to the club, and wish them luck with their new clubs.
