CELEBRATION EVENING + NIGHT WITH LEGENDS

The L.S.Y. Testimonial Committee have arranged a Celebration Evening, including Legends from past Scottish Junior Cup successes, in Auchinleck Indoor Bowling Club on Saturday 20 August 2016 at 7.00p.m. for 7.30p.m.. Music will be provided by Cover Story. Tickets, price £10.00(including buffet), will be available shortly and anyone wishing tickets should contact Colin Chisholm, Morton Wright Jnr or any other Committee Member.

TESTIMONIAL REPLICA JERSEYS

A one-off strip is being produced for the Testimonial Match on Sunday 24 July between Auchinleck Talbot and Kilmarnock F.C.. The Testimonial Committee has decided to make a very limited number available(1 – 18) to supporters at the price of £50.00 with proceeds going to the Testimonial Fund.

Talbot’s defence of the West of Scotland Cup starts with a first round visit to Cambuslang Rangers. The recent draw at the WJFA meeting paired the sides for the second season running. Talbot were convincing 5-1 winners last season on the run up to the capture of the West Regions main knockout competition.

Talbot have unveiled their new home strip for season 2016/17. The strip should be available for the start of the new season and confirms with the traditional stripes.  The strip has been sponsored by John and Margo Kiltie for the next two years and Auchinleck Talbot would like to thank both of them for their generous backing. Last games on Saturday before a short break from games for a few weeks. Played well in patches however we looked a bit tired at times which is to be expected at this time of year. We still looked decent going forward but the vision and passing was lacking. Good defending again and excellent goalkeeping. Special mentions this week go to Joe Millin for working harder and applying pressure, and to Joe Savage for tackling and passing. Overall we’ve had a good first part of 2016 and the progress the boys are making is really good. We don’t always show it in games but when the boys start to play football with their nice short passing, it’s a joy to watch. We’ve been a bit inconsistent so far but at this young age it’s to be expected. We’re doing the right things, trying to get the ball on the grass n play attractive football. It doesn’t always work but with time it will come and we’ll be a better team and players for it. We’ll done boys. Keep up the hard work. You are a joy to work with.

We would be more than glad to see you at the AGM because your input is vital to the running of the club.

 

 

 

Auchinleck Talbot FC wish to confirm that Martin Findlay, Robert Love, David Gillies and Scott Johnstone have been released by the Club. We’d like to thank Martin, Robert, David and Scott for their service and wish the every success for the future.

ANNUAL MEMBERS MEETING & HOSPITALITY DAY

A large turnout heard that the club had 148 members contributing greatly to the success of Auchinleck Talbot FC. Secretary Henry Dumigan thanked all members past and present and a minute’s silence was observed as a mark of respect for members who are no longer with us.

Dwayne Hyslop was presented by the Club’s Player of the Year award from Treasurer Bobby Millar before all in attendance enjoyed the afternoon’s hospitality.

Games for the boys at the academy on Saturday against Nith Valley United and Valspar. Some decent football played at times but our usual passing game was missing for spells. Good attacking runs made throughout the games but we switched off now and again tracking back. Over the whole we defended well and there were some good saves from the keepers. We scored with a few good finishes and some good build up play. Pleasing performances but we can still be much better. Special mentions this week go to Shaye Bone for tackling and forward passing, and to Lewis Auld for some good saves and coming off his line well.
