SCOTTISH JUNIOR CUP FINAL SECURITY

For your information, following the tragic events in Manchester I spoke to the police this morning regarding any additional security measures likely to be in place for the game. As you can imagine, the police are still reviewing their response but it is highly likely that there will be full bag searches for all spectators on 4 June as well as random body searches. In order to mitigate the resulting added time taken to get fans into the ground I’d be grateful if you could advise both clubs that this will be happening and ask them to publicise it as widely as possible. The key messages being: the reason it is happening (i.e. Manchester bombing); arrive early; don’t bring a bag with you unless absolutely necessary and, if you are told you are going to be searched but you refuse, then you will not be permitted entry.

Feel free to contact me if you need to discuss any of the above.

Kind Regards

YOUTH REPORTS

2001 – Tuesday 16th May

Auchinleck Talbot 6-1 Cumnock Juniors

Scorers:            Jamie Conn-2: Lochie Reid -1: Lewis Hood-1: Scott Whalen-1: Taylor Kerr -1

Man of the Match was Jamie Conn.

Sunday 21st May – League Cup Final

Auchinleck Talbot 1-4 Largs Thistle

Scorer: Jamie Conn

Man of the Match was Lewis Bell.

2003 – Girvan 0-2 Talbot

A good victory and a pleasing clean sheet away from home. John Johnstone had the boys 1-0 up inside the first 5 minutes. Talbot had chances but couldn’t double the advantage. Second half was the same as the first with mostly Talbot playing the football but not making the chances count. Until Zak smith made the tie safe with the second goal. The boys are capable of playing better but stuck to the task and ground out a good away result.

2007 – The boys were at home to Ayr Boswell on Saturday. Again, apart from one or two, it was a below par performance. Not enough desire being shown from the boys. Enthusiasm from some is sadly lacking at the moment. You can have all the ability in the world but the effort needs to come with it. As soon as it does come, the improvement will be phenomenal. We started the season so well and in the odd game recently have still played really well. But the past two weeks have been really poor. Let’s pick it up again boys and show everyone what you can do.

BEST WISHES – TALBOT 2001S

Auchinleck Talbot FC players and Officials would like to offer the Talbot 2001s our very best wishes and every success in their forthcoming League Cup Final versus Largs Thistle at Kilwinning Sports Club KA13 6LF on Sunday 21st May Kick Off: 10.30am

YOUTH REPORTS

2001 – Sunday 14th May – Bonnyton 0 Auchinleck Talbot 11
Good solid performance today from a strong Talbot team.
Scorers: Jamie Conn 3: Lewis Hood 3: Lochie Reid 2: Scott Whalen 1: Conlin Kelly 1: Taylor Kerr 1
Man of the Match : Lochie Reid

League cup final  – Sunday 21st May
Auchinleck Talbot v Largs Thistle  – Kilwinning sports club – KA13 6 LF – 10.30AM KICK OFF.

2003 –  Talbot 1-1 Prestwick. The boys could have and should have taken the 3 points as they had the chances. That said though, it was a good performance with every player giving their all. A goal by Keelan Stakim had the boys 1-0 up at half time. Second half a corner came off one of our own lads and into the net which was unlucky. The coaching staff are proud of how the boys played though, as they stuck in and gave their all against a good Prestwick side. Joint man of the match was Logan Murray and Cody Bottell.

2005 – Free week.

2006 – Only one game on Saturday for the 06’s away to Nith Valley United. We started slow and that seemed to set the trend for the whole game. We just couldn’t get ourselves into the game and it was a bit of a frustrating morning for everyone. That being said we did see some good football from us at times but silly mistakes cost us too often. Nith Valley played well and played as team which we just couldn’t do for some reason on Saturday. Hopefully the boys forget the game quickly and we move on.

2007 – Slightly disappointing performance on Saturday away to Cumnock. The boys have in general been doing great this season but for some reason on Saturday they went off the boil. They played some nice stuff in small patches but defensively weren’t as solid. Gave Cumnock too

much time on the ball which gave their flare players the opportunity to play. As said though, the boys have been doing well this season so we’ll hope it was just a blip and go again from training on Wednesday. Man of the match for Talbot was Tyler McPike for his effort and breaking up play. An excellent performance.
