YOUTH REPORTS
2001s – Sunday 5 February 2017
Crosshouse 1 Talbot 0
It was hard luck today for the lads with a 1- 0 defeat, this was never going to be an easy game anyway for two teams who were both out for a win, good football played with a few injuries sustained and with plenty of goal opportunities but unfortunately it was just one of those days where the ball went everywhere but in the net. Disappointed faces all round this week but this only helps us to keep focused and be stronger and better for our next game keep up the hard work.

“A Football Reminiscing event takes place every first Wednesday of the month at Auchinleck Community Centre from 10.45 am, starting 11am to 12.30pm. The group has been running for three years and is aimed at helping those with dementia enjoy the national game again. There are gentle image based quizzes centred around various subjects related to both Senior and Junior Football. The event is light hearted and we encourage members of the community to attend. Those attending are able to relive their golden memories but also share their memories with those attending. There is a small charge of £2 to cover the cost of light refreshments. If you have any questions please contact Lawrence Lindsay on 07766 710702. We ask that anyone attending should be able to support themselves independently or is able to attend with a carer.”
Talbot were recently approached by the group for the use of match pictures.
Hello. I was wondering if you minded if I copied a couple of the Auchinleck cup winning pictures into a musical presentation I am doing for the Auchinleck daycare Football Memories group I do, next one being Wednesday 2nd February at the daycare. I wanted to do it as part of a tribute to Sam McCulloch who I knew when I worked for Alzheimer Scotland. I will add a song to pictures I copied from old newspaper cuttings. The group has been running for about three years and is for people with dementia. If you need to know any more info I would be delighted to provide it. John Holroyd attended my group back in October ish. I hope you are okay with my request. Would it be possible to advertise or mention my group on the website. I occasionally mention it on the Talbot Facebook page. All the best Lawrence

YOUTH REPORTS
2001s – Sunday 29 January 2017
Talbot 4 Irvine Vics 1
The Talbot lads got off to a slow start in the first half of the game with Irvine taking the lead. Talbot always appear to work harder under pressure which saw them lifting their heads and setting about getting a job done in the second half. With sheer strength and determination in a physical and challenging game the lads pulled off another win earning them another 3 points and to see them still sitting at the top of the league.
Scorers: Jamie Conn 1: Justin Barr 1: Rhys Griffin 1: Own Goal 1.
Man of the Match: Lewis Bell
2003s – Saturday 28 January 2017
Hurlford 3 Talbot 0
The Referee almost postponed the game due to the pitch being waterlogged which was very difficult to play on, the boys however did what they could and had the most of possession trying hard to play football. The referee turned the game in a 5-minute time slot by giving onside decisions for two goals that were dubious, the Talbot boys felt were clearly offside. Talbot’s top scorer Josh Jones early in the second half had the ball in the net, only to be ruled offside which pretty much sums up Talbot’s day, third goal was from a corner which looked like the ball was at least a good yard at least still in play, and resulted in a goal, the third goal was from a corner which looked like the ball was at a good yard at least still in play and resulted in a goal.
Man of the match: Talbot captain Gavin withers
SAM MCCULLOCH
Auchinleck Talbot FC was very sad to learn of the recent death of former Stalwart Sam McCulloch. As a mark of respect we ask both sets of fans to observe a minute’s silence prior to Saturday’s League game v Largs Thistle. Our thoughts are with Sandra and the family at this sad time.
