Talbot midfielder Keir Milliken has left Talbot on his own request and has joined North Ayrshire rivals Beith Juniors. “Milky” who signed for Talbot six years ago from  Irvine Meadow was an ever present in the Talbot side and was a much admired player by the Talbot fans. Rumours were abound during this season that the left sided midfielder was linked to Kilwinning Rangers with Pollok and Hurlford keeping a tab on procedures. Keir will undoubtedly leave a large void after his departure but the club would like to wish him well in his new career.

Bryan Young has signed for Pollok and was paraded on their twitter page. So far there has been no news on Martin McGoldrick .

Following this year’s voting process Hugh Lyden has been successful in being voted to be inducted into the Club’s Hall of Fame. The Organising Committee have decided that the late Cammy Hitchell should also be inducted at the same time. The Induction Evening will take place in the Talbot Social Club on Saturday 2 September 2017, music provided by Marc James. The Organising Committee would like to thank all supporters who took the time to vote for this important part of the Club’s history

AUCHINLECK TALBOT WISHES TO THANK ALL WHO HAVE VOLUNTEERED FOR THE BUILDING OF OUR NEW CATERING FACILITY

Talbot have signed former Ayr United, Dumbarton and Stranraer defender Craig Pettigrew. Craig is no stranger to the Talbot faithful due to his stint at Beechwood before joining Stranraer. His experience will be paramount for the coming season. The backroom staff have also added former midfielder Kyle Faulds from Stirling University. Kyle was highly rated at Beechwood but studies took him to Stirling where he continued to play with the University team.

Our  recent signing was Liam Weir from Kello Rovers who plays in the centre of defence. Liam played for Queen of the South in there youth set up before spending four years at Kello. Our last signing to date is Jamie Glasgow who is a former Celtic youth player. Jamie who is a striker or attacking midfielder was signed from East Stirling and also had a spell in the Juniors at Camelon.

Talbot welcome all the new boys and hope they enjoy their stay at Beechwood.

Leaving the club will be Bryan Young and Martin McGoldrick along with Dylan Stevenson. We wish all three players all the best in their future career and to let them know that they will always be made welcome at Beechwood Park

Talbot have released information on three pre-season matches for the start of the 2017/18 season. The team will face Kilmarnock on Sunday the 16th July in the Steven White testimonial match. They have also arranged a home midweek tie against Super First club Shettleston on the 26th of July before traveling to face Bo’ness United in the Will Snowden testimonial match on the 29th of July. Both testimonial matches have a 2pm kick off while the Shettleston game will be 7.30pm. Other matches to be confirmed.

The Beechwood Regeneration Committee will be opening Beechwood Park on Tuesday and Wednesday the 6th and 7th of June to any volunteer who would like to help demolish the old pie hut. The Committee desperately need the old structure removed so that the foundations for the new catering facility can be installed. They are also on the cadge for a sledge hammer and crowbar to help with the demolition.

The new facility will be three times the size of the current building and will include the programme shop which has raised so much money for this and other ventures. If you can help out then please come along as this volunteer work will save the committee valuable cash that can be channeled into the venture.

After a meeting with Auchinleck Talbot and Glenafton Athletic both clubs have asked there fans to participate in a one minute round of applause in memory of ex-Talbot and Glenafton player Sam McCulloch. The applause will take place during the fifth minute of play at Sunday’s cup final as number five was Sam’s shirt number.

Sam was a New Cumnock lad and during his career he played for Glenafton. However his greatest triumphs came in the black and gold stripes where he was a colossus in the centre of the Talbot defence. He was a Talbot legend and a great servant, and it will be a moving tribute by both clubs and both sets of fans.

Please join us in remembering a remarkable player and a wonderful man.
