THE JOHN DAVIDSON AWARD 2017

The worthy winner of the John Davidson Award for outstanding Service to the Club during season 2016/17 is Jimmy Ferguson. Jimmy who organizes the playing kit for our games, along with various ground staff duties will be presented with the award prior to the Hurlford United game at Beechwood Park on Saturday 26 August by John’s wife Janice and sister Elizabeth.

Following this year’s voting process Hugh Lyden has been successful in being voted to be inducted into the Club’s Hall of Fame. The Organising Committee have decided that the late Cammy Hitchell should also be inducted at the same time. The Induction Evening will take place in the Talbot Social Club on Saturday 2 September 2017, music provided by Marc James. The Organising Committee would like to thank all supporters who took the time to vote for this important part of the Club’s history

Sean McIlroy and Calvin Kemp have signed for Talbot. The former Dandenong Thunder striker was absent from Saturday’s match against Bonnyrigg, but exciting midfielder Calvin Kemp put in a sterling opening 45 minutes before being substituted as players were rotated. Talbot and Pollok have agreed terms for defender Martin Mcgoldrick who looks certain to join Pollok.

STEVEN WHITE TESTIMONIAL MATCH

Auchinleck Talbot FC would like to thank everyone who supported the above

Testimonial Match, in particular Kilmarnock FC and the Killie Travel Club who

sponsored the match.

Talbot lost to East cracks Bonnyrigg Rose in a penalty shootout to decide the destination of the first Pro-Turfcare Ltd Trophy. In a very competitive match where four players were booked in the opening 20 minutes Talbot came from behind thanks to a Stephen Wilson penalty late into the game. Unfortunately Stephen was one of the culprits who missed his penalty during the shootout. It was a good workout for both sides with the Talbot fans getting a first glimpse of new boy Liam Weir. Murray’s match report and Aaron’s video highlights will follow shortly.

Talbot would like to officially announce that Gareth Armstrong has signed with the club. Gareth was a member of Ayr United’s football academy,making his first team debut in the Scottish Second Division as a substitute on 7 May 2011 against Brechin City at Glebe Park.

Gareth moved into Junior football with Troon to gain experience of regular first-team football after a long education with Ayr United. His versatility has seen him used at right-back, centre-back & midfield, but he won the Player of the Year award in season 2012-13 at left-back. Gareth made his debut on Sunday against Kilmarnock in the 1-1 draw. Welcome to Beechwood.
