Talbot honour Legends

Talbot legends George Gemmell, George Rattray and Ross Findlay were inducted into the Talbot Hall of Fame on the 7th of November at the Talbot Social Club. The trio are Talbot folklore and are a massive part of the resurrection of the club during the late 70’s and beyond. A packed hall enjoyed a night of music and dancing along with some well spoken recollections from the players themselves.

TALBOT TRAVEL TO KINNOUL

THE SCOTTISH CUP 3RD ROUND DRAW
After our good win at Tranent last week we have now been paired with Tayside club Kinnoul Juniors from Perth. This is our seventh away draw out of a possible eight if you take into account the quarter final Ardagh match against Maybole.
Kinnoul play in the bottom rung of the East Region Juniors and progressed into the third round with a 3-1 away win over Fraserburgh.
The news of the draw has certainly excited the locals and this was taken from their facebook account.
“Scottish Cup 3rd Round Draw –
Kinnoull’s prize for defeating North Region side Fraserburgh Utd is a home tie against the Junior Cup holders Auchinleck Talbot. The Ayrshire giants of Junior football defeated Musselburgh Athletic 2-1 in the final last season. My first ever Scottish Cup venture with Kinnoull was in 2003 – when we were drawn against ‘The ‘Bot’ in the 1st Rd. A trip to Beechwood Park resulted in a 5-1 defeat for Kinnoull but was still a great Scottish Cup day out – and Kinnoull look forward to returning the favour, 12 years on!”
Kinnoul’s Tulloch Park which is supposed to be situated near Muirton Park is an open air affair so it will be brolly’s and gloves as winter kicks in.The draw threw up some tasty ties with last years finalists Musselburgh travelling to Petershill while dark horses Bo’ness head to Troon. The East big guns have been landed with some banana skin games, Kelty going to Clydebank, Camelon at high flying Kilsyth, Sauchie at Kilwinning and Cumbernauld going to Linlithgow.
The games that might throw up a shock could be down at Girvan where Beith are visiting while Ardrossan Winton Rovers could give Hill O’ Beath a game and a half.Apart from Petershill and Troon the West Premier clubs should all progress with Kilbirnie facing the toughest task against Dundee Violet.
The games to be played 21ST November.
