YOUTH REPORTS

2001 – Auchinleck Talbot 1 – 4 KSC. Goal from Conan Mackin. Man of the Match Jamie Conn.

The team are in a league cup final on Sunday 21st May at 1030 at Kilwinning Sports Club against Largs. If at a loose end then why not come along and support the boys.

2003 – Talbot 3-3 Knockroon.
The local derby, and the boys found themselves up against it when they lost two goals in quick succession and found themselves down 2-0 in what had been an even game. The boys took the game to them though and found themselves back in it and 2-2 at half time with John Johnstone and Josh Jones scoring either side of a red card for abusive language by the opposition directed toward the referee. Second half, the boys were working hard to take advantage and Josh Jones just curled one past the post. Cameron McBride came up from right back though and stuck one past the keeper and Talbot were deservedly up 3-2. The game stayed at that until the last 30 seconds when a wrong offside call by the referee against Michael Kane gave Knockroon a free kick which they took quickly and caught the Talbot boys out and harshly let them snatch a draw. It was a great overall performance from the Talbot boy’s right throughout the team.

2005 – This weekend Auchinleck Talbot 2005s had a local derby against Cumnock. It was a highly anticipated game front both sets of fans as every game has seen a close evenly matched game. In the first 10 minutes the two teams were trying to find an opening when out of the blue Calum Wilson from well outside the box hit a thunderbolt shot into the roof of the net. Cumnock hit back fast and equalised, the game started to open up with chances from both sides then just before half time Calum Wilson took a pass from the Talbot keeper and went on a Messi run and beat about 5 players and hit the ball past a dispairing Cumnock keeper. In the second half again Talbot got off to a great start with Fraser Hume flicking a nice pass to Calum Wilson who was composed enough to round the keeper to slot the ball away for his hat trick.  Talbot looked as if they were going to run away with the game. Then Cumnock managed to pull one back which added to the tension then Cumnock got an equaliser with 10 minutes to go. Talbot were just hanging on with the Talbot keeper Tre Allen pulling off some great saves. Finally the whistle blew for full time. This had been great game and a well  deserved draw with the spectators clapping both teams off the park.

2006 – Free week

2007 – A home game against Caledonian on Saturday for the boys. It was a very sluggish start from Talbot which hasn’t been like them recently, particularly after last week’s great display. They found themselves a couple of goals down at half time which seemed to spark them into life. It really was a game of two halves, as the second half performance was much improved with Talbot dominating the half. The boys just couldn’t find the net as much as they should have but you get games like that. They need to continue with the way they played in the second half and the results will come. Special mention this week goes to Brandon Arthur for a good display attitude and good attitude.
