AUCHINLECK TALBOT YOUTH

2007S
The boys played against Dean Thistle on Saturday at Kilmarnock. They started really well, putting some lovely moves together and scored a few good goals. A few lapses in concentration let the other team in at times but there was good goalkeeping on show. Some excellent attacking play kept the pressure on which was good to see. A good few opportunities were missed but it was great that they were still getting into those situations. Overall the boys played really well and most worked hard to do so which is the basis of moving forward. Special mentions this week go to Shawn Blackmore for dribbling and tackling, and to Grayson Gooden for tackling and passing.
NEW TEAMS
Our youth setup has recently started two new teams at the 2009 and 2010 age groups with 27 kids involved so far who are really enjoying the opportunity to play football and make new friends. They are currently being coached by Scott Guy (from the SFA) through the McDonalds Programme, and by a coach from one of our other age groups. We already have a couple of people interested in becoming coaches for these teams and we hope to attract others as well to continue to give these kids the chance to play and enjoy themselves. The future looks bright for the new teams

FESTIVAL
We are also holding our annual football festival on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June 2016 at Beechwood Park, and thanks to the officials from all our age groups, every place has been filled and we’ll see around 360 kids from all over Ayrshire and from Dumfries and Galloway participating. No doubt there will be a few stars from the future on show. It promises to be an excellent two days of grassroots football so get yourself along and see what the kids can do.

BEECHWOOD REGENERATION UPDATE

The new toilet blocks will be open soon. A building standards completion certificate is required before they can be put into use. The committee are starting two new projects – new catering facilities to replace the existing pie-hut and extending the Main Street enclosure. It is hoped that both projects will be completed by  spring 2017
CUMNOCK & DOON VALLEY MINERALS TRUST

Auchinleck Talbot wishes to thank the Cumnock & Doon Valley Minerals Trust for kindly approving our Grant application for £900. This will assist with the cost and enable the club to carry out drainage repairs at the clubhouse end of Beechwood Park.
