Dear Sir / Madam

PYRAMID

Please find below the responses I received to the Pyramid questionnaire to date.  (4 clubs failed to respond.)

  1. Should Junior Football join the current Pyramid system?

Yes      99                                No       55

  1. Which option does you club prefer?

A         54                                B         74

  1. Does your club meet entry level Club Licensing criteria?

Yes      15                                No       139

Given that the principle of Pyramid appears to meet with the approval of the majority of members, the next step will be to arrange an EGM, either sooner or prior to the AGM, to have the decision promulgated.

I also intend to write to the Board of the Scottish FA advising them of these results and also requesting them to agree in principle – subject to the outcome of the EGM – to the Juniors joining the Pyramid system.

Yours faithfully

TALBOT ACADEMY

U19s….

Talbot welcomed 2nd place Stewarton to St Joseph’s in this west of Scotland league tie. Talbot were looking to bounce back after last week’s defeat and bounce back they did with their best performance of the season running out 9-1 winners goals from Wright (5) Orr, McLean, Peters and Route.

fantastic team performance well done lads

2003….

Bellfield 8-0 Talbot

Semi-final woes against a team a division above, the boys actually played well for most parts of the game but some soft goals late goals just before half time and full time made the score worse than it looked, to get to both cup semi-finals and be sitting top of their league is a great achievement anyway and the boys look to finish the season strong,

Man of the match:          Nicolas Jakab

2006….

The 06’s were at home this weekend and faced a very good Caley team in one game of 9’s. A very enjoyable first half saw Talbot getting involved but struggling to put the passes together to get up the pitch to cause any threat to the Caley defence. A very well taken goal by Caley was the difference at half time which was a fair reflection of the first half. Into the second half and it was more of the same and Caley managed another goal early on. The Talbot boys continued to battle hard but couldn’t find their way to goal before Caley finished the game with another. A fair result on the day but a far better day for the 06’s who worked hard. Some great goalkeeping from Lawrie Smith and Brayden Allan.

2007….

Only one team playing on Saturday, as the other had a free week. It was a home game against Coylton. Talbot dominated from the start and were playing in the opponent’s half. The final pass was lacking for a few minutes however the boys kept playing their usual game and they soon got their rewards. There was some excellent finishing to cap off both excellent individual and team moves. Paul Torrance in the Talbot goal swept up superbly when called upon, keeping a clean sheet. The boys were guilty of holding onto the ball a bit too long at times, however it was an excellent performance. Braydan Gooden grabbed two well finished goals, sending one first time into the top corner.

2009….

Golds: – much Better effort by boys 2day with some good passing moves throughout, Parker had a good game in nets with the McRoberts twins showing a bit more grit in defence, across the midfield there was better movement with Underwood, Woodsell and Gardener getting some vital passes through to Muir who showed good close control and some nice finishing, man of the match goes to Finlay McRoberts for his strong tackling 👍🏻⚽️

Man, of the match:         Finlay McRoberts

Blacks: – really slow start today losing a couple of early goals and never really getting going from there, lack of concentration, poor passing and little effort was the theme for today, the boys are much better than what they showed today so it’s certainly nothing to worry about

Duncan , Templeton and Caldwell playing very deep at the back often struggling to get the ball to our midfield Hodge ,Mahmood and Ralphs meaning Hannah was a lost boy up top often coming back to a defensive position to try get a touch of ball , opportunities were few and far between for us with our final ball lacking any quality , Mahmood unlucky on a lay off from Hannah just putting it past the post , both boys linked once more later in the game and the ball fell to Ralphs who should be very pleased with his goal it wasn’t just a hit and hope it was a very clever finish lifting it over the top of everyone and into the net , massive well done to man of the match Lucas Campbell who again shows great quality for a keeper his age and we have him to thank for the score line not being worse today , some really great saves and blocks made in what will be the busiest he will be all season

Man, of the match:         Lucas Campbell
